Dreams are not real

Dreams have no connection to reality.
Almost never.

In my dream this morning, you came to meet me by the river.
We sang lalit as the sky got lit slowly...
It was elaborate ...
Unhurried, unrestrained...
looked at you as I saw the morning star.
I was relieved.
It felt I don''t have to worry about you going away anymore.
I smiled in my dreams,
I somehow always knew you would stay.
I know dreams have no connection to reality,
When I woke up, my phone beeped to remind your imminent departure

Dreams are not real. They are never.
In my dreams you reach out and hold my hand,
When I feel scared, but still try to show a brave face.
When we bend forward together,
to see the road ahead through darkness...
You kiss my temple.
In my dreams,
You hold my uncertainty in your strong certain palms.
Dreams are never real, because I know,
You have not found your certainty. Not yet.

In my dreams, you often agree to close your eyes.
You want to rest your head on my shoulder.
Breathe deep and let me hear your breathing,
For hours...
I know dreams are never true,
When we meet, you talk non stop!

Dreams are indeed not real.
In my dreams I swim like a swan through all the suds
And often agree to suspend disbelief.
In reality I stumble too often, choke, and struggle to keep afloat.

Dreams have nothing to do with reality.
In my dreams, you never leave my side.
In reality, I do not meet you for years!
